Fresh Watermelon Margaritas
I don’t know if it’s because I live in beautiful Arizona, a.k.a. the land of margaritas, but when I think of having a drink, my mind always goes to this sweet and tart cocktail. Going a step further and adding fresh watermelon juice to the classic flavors of a margarita make it the perfect cocktail for summer.
It’s easy to juice a watermelon and, since you will have over a gallon of this beautiful, ruby red nectar, you will have more than enough to make all of the recipes in my “one watermelon, three recipes” series! The other recipes are watermelon lime popsicles and refreshing watermelon granita, both also delicious and refreshing. Or you can use all the watermelon juice by making multiple batches of this watermelon margarita recipe! I mean, you wouldn’t want to waste any of your delicious, homemade juice, would you?
Making the perfect summer cocktail is as simple as measuring your ingredients into a pitcher and pouring your margarita over ice! I like to serve these with a salted rim and wedge of lime to balance the sweetness, but that is completely optional. You could even go the other way and up the sweetness with a sugar rim!
Mix up a batch of fresh watermelon margaritas today, relax and enjoy the weather. These will lift your spirits – rain or shine!
