How to Make White Rice

Perfect for weeknights, white rice takes only 15 minutes to cook!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup long grain white rice, such as jasmine or basmati
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the water, rice and salt to a saucepan. Turn the heat to high.
  2. Once the water boils, turn the heat to low and cover the pan.
  3. Simmer covered for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and let the rice sit for 10 minutes (optional step, but it make the rice fluffier).
  4. That’s it!

Notes

Leftovers are great for fried rice!
